Il Centro Agroalimentare Roma è una delle più importanti strutture europee per la commercializzazione dei prodotti ortofrutticoli ed ittici. Grazie alla sua invidiabile posizione ed all’accentramento dell’offerta e della domanda che caratterizzano l’input e l’output di prodotti e servizi,  il CAR rappresenta un grande polo logistico, organizzato, tecnologicamente avanzato e informatizzato, capace di dar consistenza ad un reale processo d’integrazione tra produzione, commercio, distribuzione, export, imprese di logistica e di servizi. Ha  sfruttato le strutture realizzate per diventare la piattaforma logistica di riferimento del territorio e guardando a servizi terminali per strutture portuali sulle quali far conferire il trasporto ortofrutticolo. Ciò ha fatto del Car non solo il luogo dell’importante incontro tra domanda e offerta, ma anche un luogo in cui le merci transitano, arrivano, si lavorano, si acquistano, si preparano, si distribuiscono direttamente alla città di Roma ed al resto d’Italia. Una struttura polifunzionale, capace dunque di sviluppare importanti economie di scala e di ridurre drasticamente i costi logistici anche con le opportunità offerte dalle diverse piattaforme di carico refrigerate – gestite da operatori logistici – dove stoccare, preparare e ridistribuire le merci acquistate e dove gestire, secondo proprie esigenze, di rifornimento dei punti vendita i flussi delle consegne in qualsiasi ora del giorno. Who are we

C.A.R. – Centro Agroalimentare Roma (Agricultural and food centre of Rome) is one of the European most important centers for fruit and vegetables and fish products marketing.
Due to its enviable position and the centralizing of the offer and demand for every input and output product and service, CAR represents a big and important logistical, organized, technologically advanced and computerized focal point, able to make a real integration between production, commerce, trade market, distribution, export, planning operations and services. It capitalized its structures to become a logistic reference point of the territory and a terminal for all the goods arriving in Civitavecchia port.

This made CAR an important place for the offer and demand and a place where goods transit or arrive and where they are finished, purchased, prepared, distributed directly to the city of Rome and to the rest of Italy.
A multifunctional centre able to develop important scale economies, and reduce drastically logistic costs also because of opportunities offered by refrigerated platforms – managed by logistical operators – a place to stock, store, prepare and redistribute the purchased goods and to manage, on the basis of demand, the restock of dealers and the delivering flows every hour of the day.
